In line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, a Cath Lab has been inaugurated in District Jhelum.
Provincial Minister for Health & Population, Khawaja Imran Nazir, formally inaugurated the first state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) at DHQ Hospital Jhelum.

Khawaja Imran Nazir stated that the establishment of a Cath Lab at the district level will ensure the availability of modern and quality cardiac care facilities for patients suffering from heart diseases.

Health Advisor Punjab, Major General (Retd.) Dr. Azhar Kiani, Secretary Health & Population Nadia Saqib, Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Mir Raza Ozgan, DPO Jhelum Tariq Aziz Sandhu, district administration officers, and a large number of social representatives were present on the occasion.

The Provincial Minister also spoke to the media, highlighting that under the government’s revolutionary health program, Cath Labs are being established in 16 districts of Punjab in a phased manner.

He added that cardiac patients will now have access to angiography and angioplasty facilities in their own city. Critical life-saving services including Primary PCI and temporary pacemaker facilities will also be available.

The establishment of the Cath Lab is a major milestone for the health sector in District Jhelum. Expert doctors and paramedical staff will provide advanced cardiac treatment using modern machinery.

Khawaja Imran Nazir further emphasized that these Cath Labs will not only save precious time but also reduce the burden on hospitals, while ensuring the protection of valuable human lives in emergency situations.
