The Health Information and Service Delivery Unit (HISDU) was created to
facilitate the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) in
its mission to completely automate and computerize the health system.

The P&SHD understands it as the need of the hour, and HISDU is a channel
through which the department ensures a smooth transition into a
computerized P&SHD. HISDU will facilitate efficient transmission of
directions, initiatives and requests for proper and timely disposal. It will
also lead the development of customized software and database design,
with the introduction of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT)
tools in all areas.

which will create the best experience for our citizens, and make service delivery effortless for our employees all across Punjab.

Mission

The Health and Information Service Delivery Unit (HISDU) aims to completely automate the Primary and Secondary Healthcare
Department, establish IT infrastructure and ICT tools that would aid the department in efficient service delivery for times to come.

Nerve Center

The Nerve Center leads the
development and deployment of
various need based applications Web
and android applications plus also
provides system development
support to sections, units and
programs of the department.

Facilitation Center

This center has been established in
Primary & Secondary Healthcare
Department to perform one window
operations. Online leaves, transfers,
promotion and retirement requests
can be easily entertained through the
public facilitation center.

Command & Control Center

Under the supervision of Health
Information and Service Delivery unit,
LED screens are installed for online
display of various dashboards, display
of surveillance systems installed in
DHQs, THQs, Administrative
Department and have been allocated
dedicated bandwidth.

Electronic Record Room

This record room is established in
Primary and Secondary Healthcare
Department for e-filing of the
personal files of employees. All
personal files are properly racked with
electronically chipped files and bar
code.

Data Collection & Analysis

Data collection and analysis cell is
established in Health Information &
Service Delivery Unit to collect any
type of information from field offices /
districts. Staff of Data Collection &
Analysis Cell is connected with all
districts to collect the required
information.

Data Center and NOC

A centralized Data Center is
established in Primary & Secondary
Healthcare Department to provide
storage and hosting services to all
vertical programs, Units and Wings.

Order Generation Cell

Under this initiative of the Primary
and Secondary Healthcare
Department, barcoded System
Generated Orders are being issued
and SMS alerts are being generated to
the applicant regarding issuance of
his/her orders and those orders are
being displayed at official web site of
the department.

GIS Cell

The Primary and Secondary
Healthcare Department is dedicated
to increase coverage of vaccination.
An android app and portal has been
developed by Punjab Information
Technology Board. Additionally, to
achieve 100% coverage of
vaccinations, Union Council Micro
Plans are being prepared. GIS
mapping of these plans is required for
the automation and monitoring to
enhance the vaccination coverage

Recruitment/HR Cell

This cell will streamline all
recruitments made under different
initiatives of the Primary & Secondary
Healthcare Department.
