Provincial Health Minister, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Chairs Online Conference of CEOs and MSs to Review Punjab Healthcare



Lahore: Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare, Khawaja Imran Nazir, chaired an online conference with CEOs and Medical Superintendents of DHQ and THQ hospitals to review healthcare services in Punjab. The Minister took serious notice of a recent fire incident at a healthcare facility and emphasized strict adherence to fire safety protocols. He ordered immediate compliance reports on the installation of fire alarms and smoke detectors in critical areas, warning that negligence would not be tolerated. He announced the launch of a mobile app on January 4, 2025, to streamline administrative tasks like NOCs, ACRs, and leave applications for employees. A Ministerial Complaint Cell was also activated, allowing citizens to report issues via helplines. Khawaja Imran Nazir confirmed the recruitment of doctors through the Public Service Commission, with deployments to begin soon, and directed the expedited revamping of Basic and Rural Health Centers. He stressed the importance of eradicating polio and called for the creation of a technical committee to develop a comprehensive plan. The conference was attended by senior officials, including Special Secretaries Aon Abbas Bukhari and Barkullah Khan, Additional Secretary Muhammad Hussain Rana, PD IRMNCH Dr. Khalil, Deputy Director HISDU, Khalid Sharif, Director CDC, Dr. Yadullah, and representatives from PHFMC and the Roadmap team.
