Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif Decides to Launch "Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services"
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a major initiative to enhance the province's healthcare system with the launch of "Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services."
This newly introduced healthcare program will undertake 19 key tasks to improve medical services and ensure effective health management across Punjab.
As part of the initiative, 20,000 additional health inspectors will be recruited through outsourcing, significantly strengthening the healthcare workforce.
The Lady Health Worker Program will also be integrated into "Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services", creating a more streamlined and efficient healthcare network.
With 39,000 Lady Health Workers joining the force, the total workforce under the initiative will exceed 60,000 personnel.
The "Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services" will play a crucial role in vaccination drives, including polio eradication, and will also work on maintaining a structured and authentic patient record system.
Furthermore, the initiative will focus on healthcare mapping to ensure better coverage and service delivery.
According to a recent briefing, 47% of the population is currently covered by healthcare services, while 53% remains uncovered.
The briefing also highlighted that 93% of patients expressed satisfaction with the ongoing health sector reforms.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the formulation of a comprehensive plan for the initiative and has instructed authorities to take immediate measures to operationalize "Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services."
