Secretary Health Reviews Polio Campaign Progress Across Punjab
Secretary Health & Population, Nadia Saquib, chaired an online review meeting with Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of all districts to assess progress of the ongoing polio eradication campaign in Punjab, being conducted from 15 to 21 December.
During the meeting, district CEOs briefed the Secretary on vaccination coverage, field implementation, team performance, and challenges encountered during campaign activities. Detailed discussions were held on improving outreach, addressing missed children, and strengthening supervision in the field.
Secretary Nadia Saquib emphasized the need to ensure 100 percent vaccination coverage, with special focus on high-risk and hard-to-reach areas, to safeguard every child from the poliovirus. She directed district administrations to enhance monitoring, ensure accountability of field teams, and resolve operational issues promptly.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to a polio-free Punjab, the Secretary stressed that coordinated efforts, community engagement, and effective field execution are critical to the success of the campaign.
