Chief Minister Maryam Punjab Nawaz Sharif inaugurated a state-of-the-art Cath Lab at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Jhang, to strengthen cardiac healthcare services in remote and underserved areas of the province. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister also announced the launch of cardiac surgery services at the hospital, ensuring timely and life-saving treatment for heart patients at the local level.
Chief Minister Maryam Punjab Nawaz Sharif inaugurated a state-of-the-art Cath Lab at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Jhang, to strengthen cardiac healthcare services in remote and underserved areas of the province. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister also announced the launch of cardiac surgery services at the hospital, ensuring timely and life-saving treatment for heart patients at the local level.
Provincial Minister for Health and Population Khawaja Imran Nazir and Secretary Health and Population Nadia Saquib were present on the occasion. Senior government officials, health authorities, and local administration representatives also attended the ceremony.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that heart attack patients can be saved if shifted to a hospital within the golden hour, and the establishment of a Cath Lab in Jhang will end the need for patients to travel to Lahore or other major cities. She emphasized that the Punjab government is committed to providing equal healthcare facilities to all citizens, regardless of social or financial status.
The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the early operationalization of the Cath Lab, noting that several angiography and angioplasty procedures have already been successfully carried out. She added that the Punjab government is rapidly expanding cardiac care facilities across the province as part of its broader healthcare reforms, aimed at delivering quality medical services at people’s doorsteps.
