A high-level consultative meeting was held under the chairmanship of Khawaja Imran Nazir, Provincial Minister for Health and Population, to deliberate on the use of modern AI technology for improving maternal and child health and ensuring timely diagnosis.



 

In line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, discussions were held on integrating AI technology into community outreach programs. The meeting focused on incorporating AI-based tools and portable ultrasound machines into outreach initiatives.

Participants included AS Technical Dr. Zohaib, Captain (R) Dr. Muhammad Usman, and Dr. Pervez.

Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Imran Nazir emphasized that the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is to utilize modern technology at the community level to achieve better health outcomes for mothers and children. He stated that in the first phase, a pilot project will be launched in selected districts across North, South, and Central Punjab.

He further added that the program aims to provide quality healthcare services at the doorstep of women in remote and underserved areas. Through AI technology, monitoring of pregnant women and timely guidance will become more effective. Portable ultrasound devices equipped with AI tools will enable on-the-spot diagnosis.

This initiative is expected to significantly reduce complications and maternal mortality during childbirth, while also improving early screening and treatment opportunities. The Provincial Minister reiterated that, under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, ensuring effective and timely healthcare services at the community level remains a top priority.

He concluded that this program will play a vital role in further strengthening the public health system.
