Punjab Launches National Anti-Polio Campaign



The Government of Punjab has officially launched the National Anti-Polio Campaign across the province.
The seven-day campaign will run from April 13 to April 19, 2026.
Provincial Minister for Health and Population Khawaja Imran Nazir inaugurated the campaign. Secretary Health Nadia Saqib and the Chief Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Uzma Kardar were also present at the launching ceremony.
Senior officials from the Health Department participated in the event, along with representatives from international development partners including Gavi, UNICEF, and WHO.
Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir and Secretary Health Nadia Saqib said that ensuring every child has access to the polio vaccine is a shared national responsibility for the complete eradication of polio. They appealed to parents to administer polio drops to all their children under five years of age and make them part of this national campaign.
The campaign aims to vaccinate millions of children under five across Punjab through thousands of mobile polio teams.
Parents and caregivers are urged to fully cooperate with the polio vaccination teams and ensure that no child is missed during the drive
