Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir Chairs Key Meeting on Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics



Lahore – An important meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Health, Khawaja Imran Nazir, to discuss the launch and operational framework of the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic program. The meeting focused on various proposals to ensure the success of this crucial health initiative. Hon. Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir highlighted the phased implementation plan, stating that in the first phase, 150 basic health centers will undergo a complete revamping, after which the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics will be launched. “The Health Department will continue to monitor all medical facilities under the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic program to ensure the highest quality of care,” stated Khawaja Imran Nazir. He further explained that under the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic, doctors will be granted autonomy, enabling them to provide better healthcare services to the public. The program will also focus on enhancing accessibility to essential medical services. The Health Department will provide essential medical equipment such as TB, hepatitis, EPI, and portable X-ray machines to the clinics under this program. Khawaja Imran Nazir outlined the broader objectives of the program, stating, "The aim is to make doctors financially autonomous, eliminate government interference, and offer the public more comprehensive and efficient healthcare services." The meeting was attended by key officials, including Project Director of IRMNCH, Dr. Khalil, Additional Secretary of Vertical Programs, Dr. Jahanzaib Hussain, and Deputy Secretary Technical, Dr. Ahsan Riaz.
