Training session of Young Doctors held Under Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic Initiative

Lahore: A training session was organized at a local hotel for young doctors associated with the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics. The session aimed to guide selected doctors on providing healthcare services under an outsourced model, ensuring efficient public service delivery.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir, while addressing the session, highlighted the efforts of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who allocated a significant budget for revamping all Basic Health Units (BHUs) and Rural Health Centers (RHCs) across Punjab.

“A total of 2,500 BHUs and 300 RHCs are being revamped in two phases,” said the Minister. He pointed out that the previous condition of these centers was highly unsatisfactory. “Our government has taken swift measures to transform these centers, and the revamping process is progressing rapidly,” he added.

Khawaja Imran Nazir emphasized the importance of the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics, stating that they focus on utilizing the skills and dedication of young doctors passionate about serving humanity. “Local doctors are being prioritized for these clinics, and none have been left unemployed. Those affected have been reassigned to nearby hospitals,” he explained.

He urged the selected doctors to consider the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics as their own and serve the public wholeheartedly. “We are working day and night to make this new model successful. This initiative will serve as a game-changer for the healthcare system in Punjab,” he remarked.

The Health Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing existing flaws in the healthcare system and ensuring a corruption-free health department. “Eradicating the culture of corruption remains my top priority,” he affirmed.

The training session was also attended by Secretary Health Nadia Saqib, PD IRMNCH Dr. Khalil, and various Chief Executive Officers of Health. Secretary Nadia Saqib commended the initiative and assured continuous support for improving healthcare services.

This session reflects the government’s vision of empowering healthcare professionals and transforming the health sector for the betterment of the people of Punjab.
