Punjab Government Merges Population Welfare & Primary & Secondary Healthcare Departments

The Government of Punjab, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has announced the merger of the Population Welfare Department with the Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department. This integration has resulted in the formation of a unified entity: Health & Population Department, Punjab.

This strategic initiative marks a significant milestone in strengthening healthcare and population welfare services across the province. By consolidating resources, improving coordination, and streamlining service delivery, the Health & Population Department will ensure a more efficient, accessible, and comprehensive healthcare system that caters to the evolving needs of Punjab’s citizens.

The Minister for Health & Population Department, Punjab, Khawaja Imran Nazir, emphasized the importance of this reform, stating:
