Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir Meets COAVS Delegation to Integrate “Peek Primary Eye Care Program” into Punjab’s Basic Health System

Lahore: Punjab Minister for Health and Population, Khawaja Imran Nazir, met with a delegation from the College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences (COAVS) to discuss the inclusion of the “Peek Primary Eye Care Program” in the province’s basic health structure.

The minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, eye care is being made an integral part of Punjab’s primary healthcare system. All cataract surgeries will be provided free of cost through collaboration between the government and partner organizations, while eye care services are being expanded to THQs and DHQs.

Khawaja Imran Nazir reaffirmed that the Punjab government is committed to providing quality, modern, and accessible healthcare services to the public, and that international partners are being engaged to strengthen this healthcare model further.
